Epilepsy is a chronic brain disorder characterized by short, recurrent episodes of involuntary movement that affect a part of the body or the whole body.

The world celebrates the International Day of Epilepsy on the second Monday of February every year, with the aim of raising awareness about epilepsy, promoting research, education and training, as well as supporting patients and their families, in addition to improving medical services through prevention, diagnosis and treatment.
